I have not figured out how to do it. This month I spent the money for the whole month by March 11th. My question is, what is a reasonable amount to budget for a family of four?

If I can figure out how to do a poll on here, I will try and see what people spend. We were shooting for $450 a month, but the only problem with that, is that it is including all of our toiletries, cleaners, etc…. other non-food things you buy at the store. I told Chris that I think that $450 would be enough for food but not all of the other stuff.

We are two adults and a 1 year old and I budget $400 a month on groceries. This includes anything I would normally buy at a grocery store. I think $450 for your family is a good estimate but maybe a little low. I’m interested to see how it goes. I’ve tried mint.com and love it but then it stopped working with my bank :(

$450 was so not even close to enough. I will have to do an update, but we need to reevaluate our food budget for sure!
