Cousin and Updates

The kids had fun playing with their cousin Jackson at Finley Wildlife Refuge. Jackson lives in Virginia, so we only get to see him when he visits during the summer.

Gabe’s looking a little skeptical like he isn’t quite sure if he wants to join in.

I love how kids love playing the universal “I can pick you up” game.

Gabe spends a lot of his day entertaining Miriam and loving on her.

I feel like I haven’t been giving as many updates about the kids lately. Life is good, but not too many exciting things have been happening. Here are quick updates on the kids.
Sofia-Sofia has two loose teeth, and her mouth looks kind of crazy, because two new teeth have already come in behind the ones that are loose. She likes telling people that she has a shark mouth. Sofia means wisdom, and she definitely is always teaching us. The other day in the car, I was listening to a song when Sofia said, “Mom, I don’t really think that this song is appropriate. The truth was… it really wasn’t  a good song for them to listen to. I apologized and turned to a different song, and Sofia said, “Thanks mom.” This girl is going to keep us all in line.

Gabe-Gabe has been having fun riding his balance bike all around. He is the most loving and nurturing big brother. Miriam doesn’t always appreciate how he yells loving things in her face, and I sometimes lose patience with how he jumps around her and wakes her up, but he has good intent. If she is crying, Gabe worries and persistently yells for me until I pick her up. He is so proud of Miriam when she rolls over and he has been showing her books lately.

Miriam-Miriam is almost 6 months old. She can sit up, but she always ends up falling over eventually. She is rolling around like crazy. Miriam loves her daddy, and she has just started eating solid foods. More about that on Monday!!

Just for fun, I thought I would ask the kids some more random questions. Enjoy their answers, and have a great weekend!

What would your perfect day be like?
Sofia-I would fly to a merry-go-round and go on top of it. I would go to the fair and win 3 prizes. I would also do a horse contest. (I asked what that is) You know, where I make a horse do a bunch of tricks.
Gabe-Go to our friend’s house. Watch a show. Play all day.

Who do you love spending your time with?
Gabe-Dadda
Sofia-Daddy

What makes you a good big sister/brother?
Sofia-Cause I don’t choke Miriam when I am feeding her food.
Gabe-I don’t know

What do you know?

Gabe-That this paper could make a lid (he says holding a piece of cardstock out).

What’s your favorite thing to grow in our garden?

That is adorable! I’m glad that Sofia can feed Miriam with out choking her. Ha ha. ok…so, we need to talk soon. And a real talk…not when the kids are screaming in the background. xoxo.
