Lake of the Woods Family Reunion-2011

We had an amazing time at staying in cabins at Lake of the Woods for the Edgar/Olsen reunion. Here are a few of the highlights:

Scott and Connor sword fighting at the talent show.

I spent a lot of time holding this sweet gal. She pretty much wants her mama all of the time.

Macie and Myha were little buddies the whole time.

Tasha and Gavin

Jiji. At least I think that is Jiji. This is the first time that I could really tell the twins apart based off of their personalities.

We were all nice and dirty and happy. Although the happy part isn’t so obvious from this picture.

Julia making sure that she got all of the goo off of her hands

Is that not the cutest smile ever? Sweet little Sawyer.

Me and Joe… the two goofballs of the family

Sofia was a good little rower

Origami

Devon showing the kids science experiements

Kris and Relia

Heather and Kira

Cousin love

Just a bald eagle… no big deal :). Southern Oregon has some pretty awesome bird watching action!

Sorry Jaime, but I just had to post you and your movie star pose. My adorable sister in law.

Grandpa bud is still young at heart.

Devin striking a pose

Connor

Our family friend was nice enough to bring his boat up for the day.

My parents put together a scavenger hunt for the kids. You can tell that they are all pretty into it.

Devin was MC of the family talent show.

Ummm…. I was a little desperate to throw together a talent so we threw together the whole sitting on a person and pretending that their legs are yours act. Yes, those are Chris’ hairy legs and not mine :).

Kris led the kids in an adorable song/act

Julia named all of the planets for her talent

Cassin showing off his art and homemade puzzles that he makes

Sofia’s acting debut. She had to be a sad bee, and I think she played the part quite nicely. She is a natural drama queen :).

Daddy pooped from all of his picture taking and playing. Miriam waking up from her nap wondering how long it will take for me to pick her up.

Highlights from the reunion:

  • Family talent show
  • Good food
  • Heather showing us all how to tie dye shirts
  • Tons of time in the water
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Walks
  • Campfires and exaggerated stories
  • Good old fashioned family bonding
  • The family dance was awesome. We all boogied. My sister Kris totally kicked my butt in our dance off. I was winning on laughs alone with my Beyonce booty shake, but Kris came in with  a cart wheel and the splits :), and I knew that it was over for me.

Olsens and Edgars, I love you. Thank you so much for the wonderful memories!

Were you guys at Camp Esther Applegate? I’d heard you guys were at Lake of the Woods and actually wondered if I’d run into you since my family was camping up there for the weekend.

It looks beautiful there! I must go.
Will you please adopt me as a cousin so I can join your zany crew? I have lots of cousins but they mostly live in Florida. Nobody really camps in Florida.

Amber, we were at Camp Esther Applegate. You guys should have joined us and used the canoes!!
Juliette,
You can join our zany crew. What’s 4 more people when you have almost 50??
Sam,
It would be so awesome if you guys could do that next year if we can get reservations to the camp.
Mondisa,
It was the funnest trip of the summer for sure.
Shelli,
So glad you guys made the effort to come. Love you guys!~

We rented one of those little fishing boats on Saturday, and we drove by Camp Esther Applegate (for nostalgia’s sake), but even though we saw life jackets and six canoes out, it was like a ghost town. It would’ve been so fun to see all of you!
