Chasing Ice

Have any of you seen the documentary “Chasing Ice”? If not, I would really recommend it. It is about one photographer’s quest to show the affects of climate change. He post cameras at different glaciers and icebergs around the world to see if any noticeable difference will be made in a short amount of time. The results are very interesting. I remember when I was in college, there were a lot of people who thought that climate change didn’t exist. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that there is no one saying that now.
After watching the movie, Chris and I went home and talked about it with Sofia and Gabe (I guess that Miriam was there too, although I don’t remember her contributing too much to the conversation :)). After listening to our explanation and concerns for the earth Sofia said, “But what can we do to help?” It was a sweet conversation to have with her, and it gave me hope that this generation will work hard to fix many of the problems that previous generations have started. Unfortunately, we have left quite a mess for them to clean up.

The song “Before my Time” that is in the move was nominated for an Academy Award. Who knew that Scarlett Johanssen could sing? She has such a beautiful low range. Okay, please promise me that you will all note the beautiful violins starting at 3:00. Oh my gosh, the violin part brings me to tears every time I hear it. So beautiful.

Very beautiful. Sadly, there are still people who don’t believe in global warming. I don’t know understand how that can be, but it’s true. I’m so interested in seeing this movie.

Curt and I have been wanting to see this movie since it started at the Darkside, but we can’t seem to be able to get out for a date! I’ve only heard rave reviews from people who have seen it. Thanks for the reminder that we need to get out and see it.

Adrienne,
It is a good movie. Half way through, I yawned a little… only because.. there is only so much excitement that comes with glaciers :). But it is definitely worth watching.
Amanda,
If it is still playing in the really early evening like it was for us, you should drop Naomi off and run over!
