The weather has been so beautiful lately. We all know that the end of rain is nowhere near, but we love to take advantage of the breaks. Today we were able to get stuff done outside. Chris was able to burn a big pile and mow the lawn. I started prepping part of the garden for peas and greens. We decided to run and get some Marshmallows for family night tonight as the fire was almost done burning. I think that the marshmallows have been sitting on the shelf at Safeway since last summer, because they were nasty, but the kids didn’t seem to mind. Have you all tried making homemade marshmallows?¬† They taste so much better. I use this recipe when I make them. Definitely not on the healthy list, but fun to make and much better than store bought.Miriam always wanting to be a part of everything.Miriam “helping” to get the escapee chicken back.Sofia showing off her brown mellow.Gabe wanted his picture taken too, because “Daddy, this one is kind of good.”Chris feeling very confident¬† about his marshmallow roasting abilities.Perfectly brown.I love getting my hands dirty. No gloves for me, because if I wore gloves, I wouldn’t be able to feel the cool soil on my fingers.I like living in Corvallis during the winter I suppose, but I love love Spring, Summer, and Fall here. My yard has signs of new life all over, and there is something so refreshing and therapeutic about that after a cloudy winter. I love my yard and little house. Someone described our house/yard as a little Hobbit hole, and it kind of is. Someday, I will hopefully have more time to devote to taming its’ wildness, but I will just do what I can for now.

I also have to say friends that I have been feeling very inspired lately. I must be in a pretty good place, because I have been finding inspiration all around me lately. In the messages of songs that I listen to and sing, in the books and scripture passages I read, talks I listen to, video clips I watch, conversations with family and friends, and of course from kiddos. When I was putting Miriam back into her bed for the millionth time last night, she grabbed my face and looked at me and said, “You beautiful Mama.” Sometimes I wish I could see in me what my 2 year old sees in me, but moments like that remind me of what God sees in all of us, beauty and potential. Anyways, here I go with my sappy tendencies, but I just wanted to record this sweet time for the next time I am not feeling inspired. The world really is filled with so many inspiring things and people.

Aw, I love this! So much positivity! I just want you to know that we have had 5 straight days of snow here. And it has been really cold. It’s not uncommon for March to be like this here, but sadly, it’s still really depressing. So enjoy your signs of Springs for me, too!

I will indeed enjoy the nice weather. Although, it is back to raining again.
I miss you too. Would it help if I sent some Corvallis dirt in the mail to you :)?
I am feeling inspired until I think about you leaving in less than a month :(.
I’m so glad you enjoy the sappy tendencies. That’s why we are such good friends. Yes, that Carlos Santana shirt has seen better days. It’s been around for a long time :).
