Chubby Love

I dare you to try to look at these pictures and not smile. I think it is nearly impossible.

Can you even stand how precious she is?

A big prize for the person who can correctly count the number of rolls on that baby stomach.

People are always shocked when they find out how old Miriam is. She is by far my biggest baby, and that is saying a lot considering the other two were very chunky too as babies.  I haven’t taken her to her 4 month appointment, but when weighing her at home on the scale with me, she weighed about 19 pounds. Here are some of the pros and cons to having a chunky baby:

  • We just switched her out of the infant car seat. She still fit in it, but it was getting too heavy for me to carry around.
  • Add a cloth diaper to this girl, and she grows out of clothes so fast.
  • It can be high maintenance taking care of all of those rolls. When she slobbers a lot, her poor little neck gets all red. We have to do naked time to dry out all of the rolls properly, and I have had to put anti-fungal cream in between rolls ever so often.
  • Goodbye baby bjorn. The Beco and Ergo are much more comfortable these days for baby wearing.

  • The cons really aren’t that hard to deal with, because Miriam is so kissable, I can hardly stand it. I know that all babies are totally kissable, but you just can’t help but nuzzle her little tummy and love on her all day. Other people have the same reaction too. People just want to get a piece of this chunk of love.
  • I don’t ever feel like I produce very much milk, so it is good to know that I apparently have plenty .  I am grateful for a healthy and happy baby.

This is me as a little baby-just in case you were ever wondering where the chunky baby genes come from. Chris was a chunk as well.

is that velcro on those cloth diapers? did you make them? if so I have a few questions for you. :)

It is velcro. I didn’t make these, but my friend and I made some like them (Okay… I actually did the cutting, and she did the sewing). I am not a seamstress, but they were really easy for her. I think she actually modeled them after the Happy Heiny cloth diapers.

Those are adorable rolls! It’s so funny because Geneva is our chunkiest baby as well, but that’s not saying much for our kids. She doesn’t compare to Miriam’s chunkification! All of Geneva’s rolls are in her diaper, which is adorable in it’s own way. She’s our first baby to actually be in the size of clothes to match her age! And she’s only 5 pounds less than Vienna who will be 3 in a month!
I love to squish the chubby babies, because I haven’t had any of those. But I love to snuggle my skinny, little, busy babies just as much!

Dude, I love that she has boobies!

kara - May 31, 2011 - 10:29 pm

Yes, she is a cute slobbery little thing.
Does Grayson like curvy women :)?
Adrienne, glad you get to experience 1 chubby baby. I don’t think I produce skinny babies, so I am afraid chubby will be all that I know, but your babies are cuties as well :).
Miss you too!!
She totally has little boobies.
